Location – Belapur, Navi Mumbai
April, 2017
On a lazy Sunday afternoon of the summers, I had nothing to do but to lie down on my bed agitated. There came a moment where I could not stay on my bed anymore, I had to get out of the house.
I called up my friends for a meet, while we were together and still had nothing to do much. We decided to go for a short drive.
I was looking for some new places that we can go to in the maps. While most places were far away. We were in Belapur at the time and took an unknown road in our vicinity. Just deciding to find where it leads us to.
All set to explore, we reached at a place where there was the end of tarmac and a joggers park connected. The park is a bird sanctuary of which only the locals know about.
We parked the car and we started to take a walk in the park. Within a few miles, I saw local kids venture into the forest. With curiosity I went up and asked some kids about what’s out there. The kid replied they are going for a skinny dip.
And we just followed their path…
As soon as you go off the path of the jogger’s track, the first thing you will come across is a lotus pond with many yet to bloom.
There are lot of Photography options along the whole way.
Into the forest, it was peaceful and definitely a place to cool off, with the sound of birds and water flowing complimented it well.
During the Monsoon, the rain water flows through this stream and into the pond making it deeper to actually swim. This was an amazing trail nearby in belapur, Navi Mumbai.
Some of the folks won’t waste time to dive right in. I am yet to visit this place in the monsoons but it would not disappoint you in summer’s heat too, when such place happens to be in your backyard.
