During my trip to pondicherry, I visited around 7 out of 10 cafes listed in my travel journal. I would like to list down my top 5 must-visit cafes in pondicherry for foodies.
Best Cafes in Pondicherry
1 – Le Cafe’
Awesome beachside cafe in Pondicherry. It is the only seafront cafe in pondy. I absolutely loved the ambiance and the food here. Trust me, they have the best food menu for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast of all my days in Pondicherry was at Le Cafe’. It is peaceful and the view along with good food just made me put this cafe at the top of the list. Le Cafe’ is one of the must-visit cafes in pondicherry
You can try a variety of cuisines here, but if you are here for breakfast then try out their omelet menu and hot cup of cappuccino. There are many other options to try. It costs approx 500 INR for two.
2 – Cafe Des Arts
You will find large crowds gathering outside the cafe des arts due to its beautiful artistic walls. Many people visit to take photos there too. Apart from this, the cafe is very popular for its ambiance and Bohemian vibes. You will love the french decor and the vintage look inside the cafe.
Try out their wide range of sandwiches and popular drinks such as fondant au Chocolat on the menu. It would usually cost around 700 INR for two.
3 – Hope Cafe
A real amazing place to chill out. The ambiance is amazing with a good sense of background music and the overall architecture of this place. I had one of the most amazing salads and pizzas here. The staff is friendly, and the food menu is also decent.
You can also get good pictures at the cafe. The graffiti on the walls will catch your attention just when u pass the cafe. You can choose to sit indoors (AC) or outdoors. It is a pure vegetarian cafe. It costs around 300-400 INR for two.
4 – Cafe Xtasi
The Cafe Xtasi in Auroville is known for its wood-fired pizzas. There are two outlets, the other one is in Pondicherry. The options in pizzas are good and with both veg and non-veg options. The toppings and fillings are very good compared to the prices.
The only drawback here is the slow service and billing. You can get a medium size pizza for around 500 INR. If you are a pizza lover then I would suggest you try out their pizzas. It is one of the best cafes to visit in Pondicherry for pizzas.
5 – Baker Street
A paradise for the sweet tooth. It is a perfect place for desert lovers. I visited here post-dinner for some sweetness in my belly. The place is a delight for all types of traditional french food such as Pastries, Baguettes, Viennoiseries, Macarons, Crepe, Lasagne, soups, omelets, Salads, Cakes, Cookies, and many more.
There is a long menu list, so you can visit baker street for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There are options for both vegetarians and Non-vegetarians. It is surely a must-visit cafe in Pondicherry.
